The Lord God spoke to Abram with a finality and not a possibility. The pronouncement had nothing to do with his age or timing. Not even this or that season. tIt was a decree and the witness of it was El Shaddai Himself. Yet Abram doubted, grew weary, got angry, became impatient and finally looked for a solution elsewhere. Listen to this father of faith at his lowest, “O Sovereign Lord, what good are all your blessings when I don’t have a son’, Genesis 16:2. So blessed are we but lacking only this one thing that all the others mean less!
When we relate with God from a position of despair, impatience, need, fear, loss or in search of a blessing, we do so from a position of defeat! Know for sure that the life of a Christian is a spiritual battlefield. I am talking about your life, the life of your loved one, your child, them that matter more than words cad ascribe. The battle is won from a position of victory and not fighting for victory. You set them up for victory by declaring it by faith. Release them to enjoy the victory obtained for us on the cross when Jesus Christ declared, it is finished. Do you know how many victories go uncelebrated, do you mind to care how many crowns have not been worn? Dances, songs and drams that went unreverbarated? What do you mean pastor? Yes, because we were set up for defeat since we went out looking for victory instead of going out in victory?
What about David
The boy from the fields, the last born of Jesse never saw what the armies of Israel saw in Goliath. 1 Samuel 17:24 declares: “All the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were dreadfully afraid! They saw a giant, mighty man of war. The contempt in Eliab, David oldest brother tells it all; I know your pride and the insolence of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle” But David never saw what others saw of Goliath. He never saw a giant or anything to be afraid of; he saw uncircumcised Philistine, he despised what terrified others for he started from a point of victory – the Lord who delivered me … v37
What about you?
How does it look like? How are you feeling? What are they saying? It is not about looks and feelings nor figuring out or prediction of the whether or experiences of the wise. Start your day, your shift, relationship, your walk with Christ from a position of victory and you will be counted victorious. Set them up for the day with words of victory, every word of encouragement, sing victory, shout victory, power and authority is yours from Him. Or start your day with fear, doubt, worries, anger, lack or miseries from days gone by and missed targets and opportunities and you will be counted a victim and a loser
We don’t fight for victory, we fight from a point of victory
At the cross, at the cross Where I first saw the light, And the burden of my heart rolled away, It was there by faith I received my sight, And now I am happy all the day!
