Verse of the Day:
“Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.”
— 1 John 3:1 (NKJV)

You Are Loved Beyond Measure

There are many ways to describe love, but the love of God stands in a category of its own. It is not ordinary, transactional, or temporary. It is lavish—exceedingly generous, overwhelmingly rich, and deeply personal. The apostle John, in awe, invites us to pause and behold this astonishing truth: we are called children of God.

Think about that. The Creator of the universe doesn’t just tolerate us—He adopts us, claims us, and lavishes us with a love that redefines our identity. This isn’t a label we earned. It’s a gift we’ve received through Christ Jesus. And it’s not just a title; it’s a relationship. We are sons and daughters of God, heirs of His kingdom, recipients of His eternal love.

Many of us may not have grown up in homes where love was freely expressed or abundantly poured out. For some, the word “lavish” doesn’t connect to any lived experience. But God, in His mercy, reintroduces us to what true love looks like. He doesn’t love from a distance. He draws near. He redeems, restores, and overflows with grace upon grace.

Even when the world fails to recognize your worth, God never does. The world may misunderstand you or overlook you, but heaven sees you as cherished and chosen. You are not forgotten. You are not invisible. You are lavished with love.

Prayer

Many of us may not have experienced lavish upbringing and certainly the same to our own children. Many count what they lack and work themselves like nothing you know in an attempt to compensate for that which they lack. Yet, our heavenly Father has lavished us with love unknown. To lavish is to be excessively generous to the extent of spoiling. How I pray that we may experience this ‘lavish love’ today to the glory of the Father. Amen
