Verse of the Day:
“Coming to Him as to a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God and precious, you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Peter 2:4–5 (NKJV)
Built Together for God’s Glory
We live in a world that often measures worth by status, appearance, or approval. Yet Scripture reminds us of a far deeper truth: we are chosen by God, even if we are rejected by men. Jesus, the living Stone, was not accepted by the world, yet He was—and remains—precious in the eyes of the Father.
And now, you and I—followers of Christ—are also called living stones. Not passive, not forgotten, but alive in Him and placed with purpose. Together, we are being formed into something extraordinary: a spiritual house, a dwelling place for God’s presence on earth.
This house isn’t built of bricks or beams. It’s built of lives—your life included. Each day that you walk in faith, serve with humility, love unconditionally, and seek God’s face, you are laying another stone in the structure God is building. You are not a loose piece. You are fitted, placed, and purposed in this holy construction.
Moreover, you are part of a royal priesthood. That means your life is a ministry. You are called to offer spiritual sacrifices: your prayers, praise, service, generosity, patience, and obedience. These are acceptable to God—not because we are perfect, but because we offer them through Jesus Christ.
So, when you feel small or insignificant, remember this: heaven sees you as a chosen and precious part of God’s dwelling. Keep yielding. Keep building. Keep standing in your place.
Prayer
Glory be to God because of you—chosen by God and precious, living stones—continue being built up into a spiritual house where the Master may find a dwelling. Amen
