Verse of the Day:
“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9–10 (NKJV)
Grace in Every Circumstance
The apostle Paul had every reason to ask for deliverance. He spoke of a “thorn in the flesh,” something that tormented him repeatedly. And yet, when he prayed for relief, God responded with something unexpected: “My grace is sufficient for you.”
God didn’t remove the challenge. Instead, He promised to supply grace—His empowering presence that strengthens us right in the middle of our weakness. This is a profound truth: God does not always change our situation, but He changes us in it.
Many of us believe strength is found in self-sufficiency or in overcoming every difficulty. But in God’s kingdom, strength is found in dependence. It is in our weakness that the power of Christ rests on us most heavily. Why? Because when we have nothing left to rely on, we fully lean on Him. And He never fails.
Paul even says he delights in weaknesses—not because pain is enjoyable, but because he understands that each trial is an opportunity for Christ’s strength to be revealed. When we are weak, tired, confused, or under pressure, that is when divine strength takes over. That’s where grace shines brightest.
Your changing circumstances do not change God’s plan. His grace is not tied to your performance, comfort, or ability. It is tied to His faithfulness. And in every hardship, His purpose is still being fulfilled—through you, not because of your strength, but because of His.
Prayer
The Lord has never taken advantage of good tidings on you to work out His will through you and hence, He will not fail to accomplish His purpose through you because of your changing circumstances. I thank God because it is Him in us regardless of our circumstances. His grace is indeed more than sufficient. Amen
