Verse of the Day

I sought the LORD, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed. Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!
Psalm 34:4–5,7

Seeking God and Finding Peace

Fear has a way of paralyzing even the strongest among us. It creeps in through uncertainty, sickness, financial struggles, and broken relationships. But Psalm 34 reminds us that fear doesn’t have the final say when we turn our hearts to God.

David wrote this psalm after pretending to be insane before Abimelech to escape danger. He had every reason to be afraid—his life was under threat—but even in that chaos, he sought the Lord. And the Lord answered him. That’s a promise for you today: when you genuinely seek God, He hears you, and not only hears—you are delivered.

Look closely at the result of this seeking: “Those who look to Him are radiant.” There’s a transformation that happens when our eyes shift from fear to faith. The radiance here isn’t external beauty—it’s a soul lit up with the joy and confidence of divine help. Shame disappears. Worry fades. God’s presence brings light.

God doesn’t promise a life free from threats or troubles, but He promises refuge. The angel of the Lord surrounds those who fear Him (v.7), just as He surrounded Elisha’s servant with chariots of fire. You may not always see it, but His protection is active and complete.

So, what’s your role? Seek. Look. Taste. Take refuge. That is the invitation. God will do the rest—deliver, transform, bless.

Don’t let fear write your story. Let the goodness of God shine through your trust.

Closing Prayer

Father, I thank You because You hear me when I call. Deliver me from fear and let my face shine with confidence in Your love. I choose today to take refuge in You. May I never be ashamed, and may Your goodness forever be my portion. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
