Verse of the Day:
“Then Peter said, ‘Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.’” — Acts 3:6 (NKJV)
Give What You Have in Jesus’ Name
In Acts 3, we encounter a moment that reflects the very heartbeat of Christian ministry: giving what we have, even when it seems like we lack. A man, crippled from birth, sat daily at the temple gate begging for alms. When Peter and John passed by, he expected money. But Peter offered something far greater. With faith and authority in the name of Jesus, Peter extended his hand—not with silver or gold, but with divine power—and the man was instantly healed.
This passage reminds us that what the world often seeks is not always what it truly needs. People may expect financial aid, material support, or worldly solutions, but the transformative power of Jesus far surpasses all of that. The name of Jesus brings restoration, healing, joy, and purpose.
Too often, we disqualify ourselves from being used by God because we focus on what we don’t have. We may not have great wealth, influence, or a platform. But God doesn’t require abundance—He requires willingness. Peter didn’t dwell on what he lacked; he activated what he had. And what he had was enough to change a man’s entire life.
Like Peter, we are called to be conduits of God’s grace. You may not have material riches, but you have a word of encouragement, a prayer, a helping hand, or a testimony. You carry the Spirit of God, and that is more than enough. Look around you—who is sitting at the gate of need, waiting for someone to notice?
Offer what you have in Jesus’ name. You never know whose life might be changed forever.
Closing Prayer: A Heart Willing to Give in His Name
Indeed, there are many things that we lack, but in the name of Jesus, give that which you have freely received and cause ripples in the lives of others to the glory of God. Amen
