Verse of the Day:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.
— Proverbs 3:5–7 (NKJV)
Let Go of Control
Many believers say they trust God, but inwardly we rely on our own understanding, instincts, and strategies. Proverbs 3:5–7 calls us not just to partial trust or conditional obedience—but to complete surrender. God doesn’t just ask us to trust Him when things make sense. He asks us to trust Him instead of depending on what makes sense to us.
This surrender doesn’t come naturally. The world teaches us to be independent, logical, and self-sufficient. But the kingdom of God calls us to humility and faith, even when we don’t understand. It is only when we fully submit to Him—in all our ways, not just some—that He promises to direct our paths.
When we insist on our wisdom, Scripture says we are walking dangerously. “Do not be wise in your own eyes,” it warns. Why? Because our vision is limited. We can only see the surface; God sees the heart, the outcome, and eternity. That’s why true trust always requires surrender—laying down our understanding, our timing, and our desire for control.
It is not enough to want God to guide us—we must also yield to His guidance. To trust the Lord with all your heart is to say, “Lord, even when I don’t get it, I’ll still follow. I give up the right to understand everything, because I believe You do.” That’s real faith. That’s where peace and clarity begin.
Closing Prayer:
Father, I realize now that without full surrender, I can’t truly trust You. Until I submit every part of my life to You, trusting remains just a theory. So today, I let go. I resign from being my own guide and release my need to always understand. Teach me to trust You completely, walk in Your wisdom, and lean on You in everything. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
