Confirmation

At PCEA Neema Church, Holy Communion is a sacred celebration of Christ’s victory over sin and our unity as His body. It is a time to remember His sacrifice, give thanks, and proclaim our faith as we await His return. Before participating, members are encouraged to examine their hearts and renew their commitment to follow Jesus Christ.
In the Sacrament of baptism, the believer is received in the household of faith and in the
Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper (confirmation), God promises continuous shepherding in the
communion of the body of Christ. The Lord’s Supper or Holy Communion is a celebration of the
victory of the life of sin (through death and resurrection of Jesus) and the union or reconciliation
of man with God and with one another. In Luke 22:9, during the Last Supper that Jesus had with
his disciples, Jesus ordained this holy ceremony by saying, ‘This is my body given for you; do
this in remembrance of me’ This Sacrament, when taken by the congregation is a stalk reminder
that through the victory of our Lord over sin, we have become a new-covenant people of God, a
family of God, and in remembering him, we promise to live by his teaching, faithful and in
obedience to the Word of God. In taking or eating the bread (body), Christ feeds his church
spiritually by means of grace believers grow and become strong in faith and in service in the
family of God. This continuous feeding reminds the believer of the second coming of our Savior
and the need to wait on him(worthy) until his return; ‘Whenever you eat this bread and drink this
cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes’ (1 Corinthians 11:26)
Briefly, in the Holy Communion, we gather to (1Corinthians 11:24-28)
1. obey Christ
2. remember Christ
3. give thanks
4. proclaim His death (declaring the gospel of salvation to mankind)
5. celebrate the return of Christ for his church
6. examine yourself (have you truly admitted your need of Christ, turned away from all
other promises and foundations to trust in Jesus Christ as God and Savior?)
To get confirmed at PCEA Neema Church, begin by notifying your district elder of your interest. The elder will guide you through the registration process and connect you with the church’s confirmation class program.
Confirmation classes are required and provide spiritual preparation through teaching on core Christian beliefs, church doctrine, and what it means to live as a disciple of Christ. Upon completing the classes, you will participate in a special Confirmation Service, where you will publicly affirm your faith and be received as a full member of the church.
If you’re ready to begin or have questions, kindly speak with your elder or contact the church office for more information.
